Nishita is currently a senior at BASIS Oro Valley. As a passionate lover of STEM, Nishita uses her position as secretary/treasurer of She’s the First and ambassador for the Southern Arizona Research, Science, and Engineering Foundation (SARSEF) to spread STEM literacy and information, encouraging young girls to remain dedicated in their passions and motivate them to become future scientists. She is the vice president of her school’s Model United Nations club, leading over thirty students to national competitions and awards, and being recognized as the best Model United Nations team in Arizona. She is also the president of the Red Cross, spearheading blood drives, career fairs, and bake sales to spread the mission of the Red Cross and create a lasting impact on the local Tucsonian community. Nishita remains a fervent advocate for civic education and literacy as vice president of the Metropolitan Education Commission’s Youth Fellowship, lobbying amongst Arizona’s top politicians for underserved students and mental health services.
