Katie Brummund is currently a senior at BASIS Oro Valley. As community engagement chair, she spreads her love for political science and sports through interviews of working women and articles about the underrepresentation of women on the chapter’s blog. She remains consistent and dedicated in and outside the chapter as the captain of her school’s basketball team, as well as a member of the soccer, flag football, and volleyball teams. Passionate about political science and policy, Katie is a member of Mock Trial club at school, competing at the state-level competitions. She is also the secretary of the Red Cross chapter at school, advocating for civic literacy and education through career fairs and International Humanitarian Law.
