Emilia Kim
VICE PRESIDENT
Emilia Kim is currently a senior at BASIS Oro Valley. As vice president of the Oro Valley chapter of She’s the First, she’s led initiatives to install sanitary product dispensers, interview successful working women, and spread political literacy through the chapter blog. Her love for political science and civics is expressed through her various projects. As the president of the Metropolitan Education Commission’s Youth Fellowship (MEC) and communications co-lead for the Arizona Youth Climate Coalition (AZYCC), Emilia has lobbied and worked alongside Arizona’s lead politicians, implementing city-wide action plans, such as the city of Tucson’s Climate and Adaption Plan. She also remains dedicated to improving her and her peers’ civic literacy as a co-founder of her school’s Mock Trial and Newspaper Club, reaching over 700 students over her high school career. Additionally, as the co-chair of the Substance Abuse Commission for Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs under the Governor’s Youth Commission (GYC), Emilia hopes to further advocate for women and their constitutional rights.
